Introduction:
Teachers of Christian Education are the key-persons in sharing the Good News of the Lord Jesus Christ to the young generation who are still in schools. Building faith is also God's calling to teachers of Christian Education so that the students may become Christian leaders who are mature and strong to face their world in the future. That's why this ministry is called the 2020 Project. Through this project, we expect a future generation that is capable to contribute to churches and communities, because God's grace has already renewed their lives. This 2020 Project is a cooperation between PPA and the teachers of Christian Education at the government schools.
Vision
- Support the teachers of Christian Education at the public schools so that they practice evangelization and discipleship on the students.
- The students and alumni become a future generation that is spiritually strong in accordance with God's Word and their capacities in each of their fields.
- Establish networking with churches, Christian institutions, and individuals in various areas of Indonesia so that the vision and pattern of the 2020 Project propagates, also that the educators get the perspective and the insight of what Christian Education really is.
Mission:
- Make efforts in training with the purpose to implant the sense of calling among Christian teachers, to induce commitments of evangelization and discipleship to their students, and to equip Christian teachers of Christian Education and general subjects in public and private schools with the skills of teaching.
- Make efforts in evangelizing and training of students within the network of 2020 Project.
- Networking with PPA's partners who care about the financial needs of teachers within the 2020 Project network, to provide various trainings in order to upgrade their motivations for ministry and teaching skills of the Christian Education teachers at public schools.
Strategies:
- PPA organizes fellowships, spiritual guidance, upgrading of skills and fund raising to support part-time teachers of Christian Education at public schools.
- Teachers evangelize and give spiritual guidance to students in small groups.
- Students who received this ministry after having graduated and become alumni, become PPA's partners in the expansion of this network.
- Spread the 2020 Project network to all over Indonesia.
Activities of the 2020 Project in 2008
- Organize guidance for teachers in the forms of :
- Monthly Teachers' fellowships
- Retreats on specific subjects
- Educational Seminars.
- Discipleship Training to students
- Cooperation with the alumni so that they may get :
- To understand and use the BRM method
- To explain and share about the complications
- To reach out to alumni who wish to minister to
others and have visions and missions in mind that are compatible with PPA's visions-missions. - Expanding the 2020 Project ministries' network to new areas
